This exotic Journey to the Land of Dragon initiates after your arrival at Paro. We drive to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan and proceed for the exploration of the city. First day sightseeing of Thimpu includes a visit to National museum, a treasure trove of priceless Buddhist manuscripts, the traditional institute of Medicine, where ancient methods of healing are still on practice, the art and painting school, where students learn the art of Buddhist Thangkha painting, the textile company; that displays ancient art and textile and folk heritage museum, a fascinating testimony of Bhutanese material culture and living tradition. We also drive to Takin Preserve to explore the rare national bird of Bhutan.
Next, we drive to Punakha where we explore Punakha Dzong, the 17th century fortress that was once capital of the nation. Further, we drive to Wangdiphodrang to observe the local market and the Dzong. In late noon, we drive back to Paro valley and explore Taktsang Monastery, Druk Yul and other historical attractions of Paro the next day.
