Trip Overview

Ama Dablam Expedition offers great opportunity to climb one of most stunning mountain peaks in the Everest region. Well known as “Matterhorn of the Himalaya”, this stunning ice-coated granite is in pyramid shape and soars high at the sky above the trail to Everest Base Camp Trek. It lies at the heart of Khumbu region, right next to Tengboche Monastery on classical route of Everest Base Camp.

Ama Dablam (6,812m) means “The Mother’s Jewel’s Box” with long ridge like the Mother’s arm (Ama) protecting as child and the hanging glacier knowns as (Dablam). Mount Ama Dablam climbing is third most popular mountaineering adventure permitted for expeditions in Nepal and the most frequented climbing route is the Southwest Ridge. This expedition offers unique climbing experience with magnificent technical section and many cultural and natural diversions.

Ama Dablam Expedition is quite technical. It means you acquire the knowledge to use ice axe, crampons, ice screws, cams and jumars. You need to have ice and rock climbing experience plus some alpine altitude experience. 1900 climbers have been recorded to the summit the Ama Dablam peak till the date. Like Everest, the best time of the year to climb Ama Dablam are April-May (before monsoon) and September – October.
