Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one most popular and frequently visited trekking route in Annapurna region of Nepal. Also known as Annapurna sunrise view trek, it offers great photographic opportunities of 78+ milky peaks above 6,000m stretching from Dhaulagiri (8,167m) to the west, across 80 km Annapurna range to the north and Manaslu (8,163m) to the north east.
8 days Poon Hill Trek itinerary is designed for passionate walkers who are reasonably fit with limited vacation in Nepal. 25 minutes of scenic flight takes you to the city of Lake – Pokhara, the major getaway of Annapurna region trek.
This short and easy trek kicks off with 1.5 hour switchback drive through zigzag road to Nayapul. The trail follows the forested route of bamboo, oak and rhododendron and pass several farming village as you climb up to the ridge to the village of Tikhedhunga (1,495m) and the overnight village of Ulleri (1,950m).
The trail becomes more scenic as you start gaining the height offering the stunning view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Macchapuchhare. Further, the trail immerse deep into the lush and tranquil forest of oak, rhododendron, maple and hemlock as it gradually climbs up to the Ghorepani (2,850m).
A pre-dawn hike to the Poon Hill ridge rewards you with astounding sunrise over the expanse of snowy peaks to the north. We retrace back via same route to Nayapul where we board vehicle and drive back to our hotel.
Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is possible to conduct throughout the year however (September to November) during autumn and (March to May) during spring are the best time of the year for the trek.

Day 06: Ghorepani – Poon Hill (3,210m/10,528ft) – Nayapul – Pokhara (910m/2,986ft) – 6-7 hours trek & 1.5 hour drive
Day 07: Drive from Pokhara – Kathmandu – 5-6 hours trek
Day 08: Final Departure
