Bungee Jumping is probably the most adventurous sport for every daredevil’s bucket list and there is no better place than Nepal to take the plunge. Nepal, the home to one of world’s highest bungee jump, offers 160m freefall over wild Bhote Koshi River, located close to the Nepal-Tibet border, a three hour bus ride from Kathmandu.
This adrenaline jump takes place on 166m wide steel suspension bridge over the Bhotekoshi River Gorge. The jump, at 160m, was designed by New Zealand’s leading bungee consultants and is operated by an expert and experienced jump masters. They consider safety very seriously.
Location: 3 hour drive from Kathmandu via Araniko Highway (Kathmandu-Tibet road), 12km away from Tibet border and the famous friendship bridge.
The Bridge: Swiss designed, especially for jumping with a 4x safety factor. The bridge has loading capacity of 250kg per running meter. This means that the bridge can hold (250×166= 41,500kg or 4.5 tons). The bridge was built with more than 6000m steel wire, longest suspension bridge in Nepal. The bridge connects two great valley. Previously, locals used to walk for five hours to cross the river gorge.
